Chorus depicts a constellation of interlocked conch shells and moons, hovering above a seascape. In her recent body of work, Lyons has been interested in the connections between the depths of the ocean and the expanse of the universe - in particular she questions why humans are so fascinated by the celestial, though we still know very little about the dark space within bodies of water on Earth. This disconnect is especially interesting when considering the connections between the moon phases (as demonstrated by the blood moon) and sentient beings on Earth. The conch shell has ancient spiritual significance in many religions, as a protector of the environment and is considered a conduit with which to communicate with the universe. By juxtaposing the conch shell with the moon, Lyons disrupts our conception of a clear division between the subterranean, earthly beings and the extra-terrestrial.
