In Single Energetic Event, Ramsden transforms the canvas into a space of movement, sensation and possibility. Layers of luminous colour and fluid, gestural forms appear to shift and dissolve, creating a painting that feels simultaneously expansive and intimate. The work evokes a fleeting moment of heightened awareness—a point at which feeling becomes energy and the boundaries between body, landscape and cosmos begin to blur. As with Ramsden’s wider practice, the painting invites us to experience rather than simply observe, suggesting that consciousness might be understood as something felt through the body as much as conceived by the mind.
