For her solo exhibition 'Koo Jeong A: 16:07' at Kunsthalle, Dusseldorf (2012) Koo presented her first set of mountain paintings.
After spending some time walking in the Engadin Mountains, Koo began capturing them outside quickly on paper. Each work is painted using her fingers. For 'Untitled' (2012) Koo installed the 12 paintings on a green wall, the colour chosen to contrast the vibrancy of the colours in the paintings.
Koo continues to draw daily and to capture her encounters of other mountains in sites across Europe and Korea. Everything in Koo's work is about chance, even with her drawings, the depictions are not totally planned.
